Meet our dedicated and compassionate carers who make life meaningful for our many residents.
Our skilled, highly experienced staff team are the heart of our care homes. Our managerial team have over 92 years of dementia care experience behind them, many have spent their entire careers with Wisteria.
We pour our hearts into making Wisteria House a true home. Our dedicated team is passionate about ensuring every resident experiences comfort, joy, and the utmost dignity in a welcoming environment.
Kirsty has proudly dedicated 20 years to Wisteria House, building her career within the home and developing a deep connection to both residents and staff along the way. Her journey through a variety of roles has given her a strong understanding of every aspect of care and a genuine appreciation for the teamwork it takes to create a warm, supportive and happy environment.
Kirsty holds her LMS Level 5 qualification and is especially passionate about promoting a meaningful quality of life for people living with dementia. She believes in creating a calm, supportive and engaging environment where residents feel valued, understood and able to continue enjoying the things that matter most to them.
As Registered Manager, Kirsty leads with compassion, honesty and integrity. She is incredibly proud that her last two Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspections were rated Outstanding — an achievement she feels reflects the commitment, kindness and dedication shown by the whole team every single day.
Kirsty strongly believes in leading by example and is often found alongside her team and residents rather than behind a desk. She is passionate about ensuring residents live with dignity, comfort and joy, and that Wisteria House continues to feel like a true home for everyone who lives and works there.
“I feel extremely proud to have spent my entire career at Wisteria House. It is a privilege to support our residents to live fulfilled and happy lives, particularly those living with dementia, and I am equally proud of our dedicated team who bring compassion, laughter and warmth into the home every day.”
For Kirsty, Wisteria House is far more than a workplace.
“Our residents will always feel like part of our extended family.”
I started at Wisteria House back in 2010, completing an apprenticeship NVQ Level 2. I instantly knew Care work was something I wanted to do. I loved my job caring for the elderly.
I then went on to complete my NVQ’S 3 and 5 as I wanted to progress to Management, which I did. I became a Registered Manager of Quality of Life with CQC in 2022.
Wisteria House is all I have ever known for the last 16 years. I am very proud to work at Wisteria House, and I am very proud of the care we deliver to our residents. They are our second Family.
As well as caring, I also like to have fun and love planning theme days and outings! You will often find me out on the floor working alongside the staff, having fun and being silly!
I truly do believe Quality Of life is a must, and I am very passionate about it.
Working at Wisteria House and seeing our residents daily always brings a smile to my face.
I truly believe that looking after people and having their voices heard was always my vocation in life, starting at the very early age of 16 and having the opportunities for working my way up through a variety of different roles means I have now been in Health and Social care for 34 years, 22 of those years in management, achieving my LMS level 5 along with a vast of other qualifications.
I had the pleasure of joining Wisteria House back in 2017 for the refurbishment of the Plymstock home and then being offered the opportunity to assist and manage the opening of Wisteria Woolwell in 2022.
My specialism is in compliance, keeping on top of the very complex regulations that come with the territory in the care world, along with the safe day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that we have a dedicated, well-trained staff team to meet the needs of those living at Wisteria House.
As a registered manager, I pride myself on being open, honest and transparent in all aspects of my role, and my door is always open.
I get an immense sense of achievement and feel extremely proud to be part of Wisteria’s journey and in creating a team where we work unremittingly to create a truly supportive, fun, caring and safe home for our wonderful residents.
Being part of Wisteria is like being part of an amazing extended family.
I started working at Wisteria House in 2018, starting my journey as a care Assistant and working my way up to Management- A role I am very proud of. During my journey, I was provided with the opportunity to complete my LMS Level 5 in health and social care, along with other various qualifications.
Care has always been more than a job to me- it is something I am truly passionate about. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and I strive to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone living at Wisteria House.
I am a strong advocate for residents and their families. I firmly believe in standing up for what is right. Whether it is ensuring a resident's wishes are respected, speaking on their behalf when they are unable to do so, or challenging decisions that may not be in their best interest. Being a voice for those who may struggle to express their needs is one of the most rewarding parts of my job role.
Being part of Wisteria House and seeing our residents happy, content and smiling gives me so much joy that I am proud to be a part of this family.
I have over 22 years of experience working in care, becoming the Registered manager of healthcare at Wisteria House Woolwell in 2022, moving from Wisteria Stoke, where I had been for 10 years. During this time, I have developed extensive knowledge in leading care teams, prompting high standards of person - centred care and ensuring residents receive the dignity, respect and support they deserve.
Throughout those years, I have built a reputation for professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in care services. I have achieved my LMS level 5 in management, along with a host of other related qualifications. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for both residents and staff.
My experience has equipped me with strong skills in team management, safeguarding, care planning, staff development and building positive relationships with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
I am responsible for all aspects of healthcare, including overseeing the care team, medications, district nurses, doctors, and other visiting healthcare professionals.
