All fees listed below are weekly fees from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027

• Mid-size single room with ensuite from £1,450.00
• Large single room with ensuite from £1,495.00
• Single room with private adjoining lounge from £1,790.00

Wisteria House accepts funding paid by Plymouth City Council with an additional top up paid direct to the home.  

Using their category system for April 2026 - April 2027, Plymouth City Council would pay Wisteria House weekly direct the following amounts - 'Standard' - £780.24, 'Enhanced' - £829.55 and 'Complex' - £863.70, each category would normally be based on the number of care hours required to support an individual assessed by Plymouth City Council.

Our Additional Fees

Woolwell is a specialist residential dementia care home, specifically designed for people living with dementia. We offer 24-hour specialist dementia support, respite care and day care in a relaxing, homely environment.

Woolwell has space for 33 residents, which is still small enough to feel personal and family-like. Each bedroom is individually furnished with comfortable chairs and reclining beds, and we encourage people to bring favourite possessions from home so each room feels like their room, not just a room in a care home.

Wisteria House Woolwell is rated “Good” overall by the Care Quality Commission, with an “Outstanding” rating for Caring in the most recent inspection (assessment 4 Dec 2024–3 Jan 2025; report 28 Apr 2025).

We have multiple lounges designed around the different stages and needs of dementia, including quieter spaces and more sociable areas for group activities. There's also a large, secure garden with mature trees, seating areas and safe paths to explore, as well as creative touches like a feature tree with a light display that can be enjoyed in the evenings.

Our activity schedule is a busy one; every day is different at Woolwell. We offer a wide range of exciting in-house activities, including baking, art and crafts, gardening, themed days, games and picnics. We also visit local parks and shops. Food is a huge part of life at Woolwell, and our talented kitchen team create a range of popular dishes each day. We do our utmost to cater for every resident’s preferences and offer a choice of two meals at lunchtime. Our staff eat meals in the same room at the same time as our residents, making it a real family affair.

We operate an open-door approach, so you're more than welcome to visit whenever it suits your loved one, rather than being limited to strict visiting times. We encourage relatives to stay involved and, where possible, be part of everyday life in the home.

Of course! We encourage families to bring personal items such as photos, ornaments, small pieces of furniture or bedding to make the room feel familiar and comforting for their loved one. We aim to make each bedroom feel welcoming and non-clinical.
